2009 Run in the Forest Highlight Video

Run in the Forest Mission

The Run in the Forest is a new 10K and 5K event that will take place right in the heart of Carolina Forest, which is located just outside of Myrtle Beach, SC.  All proceeds from this race go to support the Carolina Forest Community Center, which provides sports and recreation programs for the community.  This year’s event is being presented by the Fitness Edge and United Chiropractic.

It is our mission to provide a first-class opportunity to promote health and wellness in the Myrtle Beach area for people of all ages, while also becoming one of the premier running events in South Carolina.

Course Description

The 5K is an out and back featuring a new road that dissects The Forest from Carolina Forest Blvd to the high school.  The 10K shares the 5K route, while adding a big loop through the Carolina Forest High School Campus.  Both races will start behind the Fitness Edge at the intersection of Carolina Commercial Drive and Carolina Exchange Drive..

Timing

Event technical direction is managed by RMS sports.  They currently conduct timing for many races, including the Myrtle Beach Marathon and the Charlotte Race Fest.  They will be using a professional timing system that features Chronotrack disposable chips.
